| 内容記述 | On October 11, 2006, DOJ announced the closing of its investigation into the AT&T/BellSouth merger without further action. On December 29, 2006, FCC accepted voluntary,\nenforceable commitments made by the applicants as merger conditions, and approved it. The\nmerger commitments were, in some aspects, the outcome of politics inside FCC. However, they\nmade it possible to implement some remedies that are difficult to make within the authority of\nFCC. Government agencies should recognize more the utility of commitments in executing their\nregulatory responsibilities in the rapidly changing environment of communications industry. | |||||
