Strongly positive immunostaining for MT was found in the kidney, liver and brain, but the heart and aorta showed only weak immunostaining for this protein. According to the results of radioimmunoassay, the level of MT in the kidney, liver, brain and stomach was relatively high, but that in the heart and aorta was low. As heavy metals in the various organs, Zn, Cu and Cd were detected.
