| 内容記述 | We have examined the mental function and activity of daily living (ADL) in the Haruna-Ikoinosono Nursing Home 3 times: 6 years ago, 3 years ago and this year. Only 38 persons of original 131 remain in the nursing home. They were divided into 3 groups: 1) 16 persons with low ADL levels at the 1st examination (ADL-Low group); 2) 8 persons without loss of ADL (ADL-Keep grpup); and 3) 14 persons with marked loss of ADL (ADL-Down group). The most prominent difference between ADL-Keep and ADL-Down group was age; mean age of 80.5 in the ADL-Keep group was significantly younger than that of 87.7 in the ADL-Down group. The mental function was declined more markedly in ADL-Low and ADL-Down groups than in ADL-Keep group. It suggests that decreased ADL promotes a loss of mental function. | |||||
