| 内容記述 | In Japan, the agglomeration of branch offices of large enterprises has been recognized as one of the most important elements for the growth of not only regional centers but also prefectual centers. Until now, there have been some case studies of the locational patterns of branch of-fices in some prefectual capitals and the like such as Fukushima, Koriyama, Yamagata, Matsue, Yonago and Tottori cities.In this paper, we have compared Maebashi and Takasaki cities with Utsunomiya city, and studied the locational patterns and territories of branch offices in the former cities. Maebashi, the prefectual capital, is the largest city with 277,317 people in Gunma prefectur-e. Takasaki, the city of prefectual capital class, is the second largest city with 231,766 people in Gunma prefecture. And Takasaki is a nodal point in traffic networks. Ut-sunomiya, the prefectual capital, is the largest city with 509,085 people and is a sole prefectual center in Tochigi prefecture, which lies next to Gunma prefecture. The reasons why we selected Maebashi and Takasaki cities are that the two cities are located side by side, only 10km away from each other, and they are located near the national capital Tokyo, the largest city in Japan. | |||||
