| 内容記述 | Since the liberalization of the Indian economy in 1991 the Advance of Japanese firms into the Indian business world has been promoted. One of the keys to success is whether the firm can transplant its information sharing organization, a source of Japanese firms' competitive advantage, to Indian society. Although this applies to any country, in the case of India special stress is necessary, because caste and other Hindu-specific cultural characteristics have been generally regarded as strong obstacles to Japanese management, in which equality and cooperation between members are necessary. Caste have two correlate aspests-vertical relationships, for example of social classes or the division of work, and horizontal relationships, for example of community or network. Until now the former has been emphasized in Japan. In this paper, however, a careful consideration is given to the latter. It is concluded that a firm in order to transplant its information sharing organization to Indian society must assume the character of the local community, a character that has the spirit of mutual aid. | |||||||||
