| 内容記述 | When published in 1822,Wiilliam Wordsworth's A Guide Through the District of the Lakes was well received as a book which persuasively spoke to the contemporary gene al readers and potential travelers about the picturesque natural scenery one can find around the Lake Dis 'ct. Yet, the Guide is not simply a so-called guidebook. Upon its analysis from the perspective of newly emerged literary genre, Nature Writing, the Guide manifests itself as a more complex literary work composed by a Romantic concerned about the deterioration of the region's environment, and struggling for years to establish his own identity. Thus, the Guide could be read other than as one of guidebooks at least in two ways : as a serious document calling for the preservation of the Lake District and, more importantly, as one of the autobiographical attempts. | |||||
