| 内容記述 | We will be concerned with repetition and will investigate its contribution to the hearer's interpretation of an utterance. Sperber and Wilson (1986/1995^2) and Jucker (1994) suggest the analyzability of repetition from the principle of relevance. We will elaborate on these analyses from the processing effort side of relevance, and show that repetition is used not only to increase cognitive effects, but also to save the hearer's processing effort, so that it is considered as encoding procedural information. | |||||
